Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't find the answer to your question here, please contact us, and we'll be happy to answer any questions you have.

What format of audio will you transcribe?

We handle digital files such as MP3, WAV, and WMA. If you have an audio file on a DVD, CD, or cassette tape, we can convert it into a digital file for you. Whatever your file format, we will help you get it transcribed. Note: There is a $1.00 charge for each DVD or CD we convert to digital format for you and an $8.00 charge for each cassette tape we convert to digital format for you.

How do I send you my digital audio files?

If your file is smaller than 20 MB, you can send it through email. If not, we highly recommend Dropbox. Dropbox is a free file-sharing service. We will create a Dropbox folder for you, and all you have to do is drag and drop any files you want transcribed into your folder. When you put a new file in your folder, we will receive a message that there is a new file. We'll drag and drop the file onto our computer and get right to work on it.

Is it possible for you to download the files from my website, YouTube, Vimeo, iTunes, or other online sites?

Yes, we would be happy to do that for you.

I want to post my transcripts on my website. Will you make me a custom transcript that includes my logo and matches my brand?

Yes! We'll work with you on the formatting until it's exactly what you need.

How do I pay you?

If you are signing up for weekly service, we'll send you an invoice once a month and payment will be due with PayPal or check within 30 days. If you just need one or a few files transcribed, we'll send you an invoice after we receive your file(s), and payment will be due by PayPal or check before work begins. If you have a bulk order, we'll be happy to work out payment arrangements with you.

Do you offer a money-back guarantee?

Absolutely! We promise 99.9 percent accuracy and on-time delivery or you'll get a full refund.

How Much will my transcript(s) Cost?

The cost of your transcript will be determined by the number of audio minutes you send us. In other words, if you have a 30-minute file, your cost will be 30 times the particular service you request. If you send a 60-minute file, your cost will be 60 times the particular service you request.

Do you offer podcast transcription?

Yes, we do. We can transcribe individual podcasts on an as-needed basis; or if you prefer, we will subscribe to your podcast feed and check for new feeds on a daily basis. Once we see a new file, we will transcribe it and send the transcript to you through email or Dropbox within 4-5 business days. If you need it back more quickly, let us know, and we'll do our best to work with you.

Do you transcribe verbatim?

We do not transcribe strictly verbatim. Although we do as little editing as possible to ensure the speaker's intended meaning isn't obscured, we do correct improper grammar, leave out the uh's and um's, recast sentences to make them read more smoothly, and correct misquotes or wrong Scripture references… For instance, if a pastor says 1 Thessalonians 1:5, and our research clearly indicates the verse being quoted is 1 Timothy 1:5, we'll correct it. If he says King David said such and such and our research clearly shows King Saul said it, we'll put the correct name. Transcription accuracy is our main goal.

What else do you do to ensure my intended meaning is clear?

All of your transcripts will be carefully reviewed by a professional sermon transcript proofreader before it is sent to you.

How will my transcript be delivered?

You will receive your transcript as an email attachment, or we can send it to you with Dropbox. It can be saved and printed whenever and as many times as you like.

My computer crashed and I lost all my transcripts. Can you send me new copies?

Absolutely! Just let us know which transcripts you need, and we'll send you new copies right away.

I want to turn my sermon series into a book. Will you help me with that?

Yes, we'd love to help you with that! The first step in the sermons-into-books process is to turn your audio or video sermons into text documents. That's our part. As we work on your transcripts, we'll make them as clean as possible. We'll correct grammar, delete crutch words, recast sentences so they're easier to read, and delete any comments not related to the sermon. For instance, if you say something like, "Hey Bill, my microphone isn't working," we'll leave that out of the transcript. We'll also do extensive research to ensure the accuracy of name spellings, quotes, Bible verse references, and more. All your transcripts will be proofread by an experienced proofreader to ensure not just accuracy but consistency as well. We do our best to make sure all your transcripts look like they were transcribed by one person, even though in reality they will have been transcribed by multiple people.
